About us
Reb Meir Baal Haness · רבי מאיר בעל הנס
Who we are
The Reb Meir Baal Haness daily pushka is a tzedakah fund run by Bnei Avrohom, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 11-2738314) located at 4424 18th Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11204.
For generations, Jews have dropped coins into a Reb Meir Baal Haness pushka before davening, before lighting Shabbos candles, and in times of need. This site lets you do the same every day, automatically, starting from a dollar a day.
Where your money goes
- 100% to the poor in Eretz Yisroel. Donations are given to poor families in Eretz Yisroel.
- 0% for overhead. Nothing is taken from donations to pay for running the organization.
- Names for tefillah. Names you submit with your donation are davened for, as described on the giving page.
How giving works
- Daily pushka: choose a daily amount (from $1), with the option to double on Erev Shabbos. Nothing is given on Shabbos or Yom Tov. Daily amounts are added up and charged once a week or once a month to keep card fees low.
- One-time donations of any amount.
- Empty your pushka: send in what is in your home pushka, or ask us to pick it up.
Online card donations are opening soon. Until then you can give by Zelle / QuickPay to [email protected], or call us at 718-288-9068.
Receipts
Bnei Avrohom is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) public charity, so donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Every donor receives an email receipt. Donors can ask for a year-end statement for their records; it shows our legal name and EIN.
